I drew everything I bought for a year

When I was twenty-one, I decided I hadn’t been drawing enough. I was going to draw a picture of everything I bought for the whole year, ending on my twenty-third birthday. I thought it would be a good lens to capture my life for a year. More importantly, I knew that the project would be inescapable: From coffee to scabies medication, I drew everything.

When I was finished, I put the journals in a bag on a high shelf and promptly forgot about them.  I didn’t reopen my time capsules until this month. Just far enough away that I thought, maybe they’re cute and interesting and someone would want to read them. Ten pages in, I didn’t even want to read it. More text at HopesAndFears.com, images below.
